Story (From Website):
Back in the early 1920’s a Fanatical, young mining tycoon named J.R. Bailey, bought a mine that was going to be shut down by the previous owner for reasons untold. Once the mine was purchased he began working the men long, grueling hours under extremely harsh conditions, but his men were loyal at all costs and kept working. There were cave-ins daily and men were entombed in the dark caverns forever, never to see the light of day or anyone else again. None of this bothered J.R. in the least because he was becoming extremely rich. Finally after toiling in the mine for seventy-one years, it was condemned. J.R. being the savvy businessman that he was found a way to still make money with his mine. To BURY THE DEAD! He set up a lavish funeral home and mortuary on the surface to appease the public and hide the secrets that lie underground. In the mine, bodies were thrown to their final resting places. Corpses lay strewn about in disgraceful fashion, often piled right on top of each other. But something else was happening as well; their spirits clutched to the collapsing, decaying mine, unable to move on to the afterlife without a proper burial and appropriate respects. With the spirits angered, the dead began to rise. The loyal workers of J.R. had fled the mine and were never heard from again. Now he is looking to replenish his loyal workforce. If you think you can handle working for J.R. then come and check out “The Haunted Mine.”
Summery:
The story is a little weak; I think it could be worded a little better. The Website also has some room to grow. There is a smattering of different ghouls, from Ghosts, to Evil doctors to zombies, no vampires though, the house itself is great. The house in set on top of an old coal mine and there is really two parts. The Victorian House of J.R. Bailey, lets you explore his unusual life and his mortuary. With the colors restricted to Black, white and Red, the mind begins to wonder as you gain the sense that you have entered a place of supernatural persuasion. And one you think its over, its really just begun. Leaving out the back of the house you follow the trail that J.R. once used to carry the bodies to their final resting spot, when you then must go your self. “Workers” then grab there hard hats and make there way to an operating mine car, where you are driven deep into the mine, you are then left there, in the darkness of the mine to find your own way out, and bared from the way you just entered. The Mine adds its own level of fear.
I gave this a 7 of 10, there is a ton of grown potential, they have a large plot of land including woods and some other areas, in the “regular Season” this is a educational mine, and everyone during the Halloween season is volunteers which is a bonus.
This is definitely worth checking out if you’re even remotely in the area and want some Halloween fun. The age says 10 on the webpage, but they seem to cater to a younger crowd then some other places. Which makes it some good family fun.
